Hello friends! Spring is here and so is the docs report! 🌸 🌸 🌸
Summary of Work Done
- Site configuration
The software infrastructure for the new docs site is almost ready. Only minor issues remain, which I’ll solve while I work on content. Issues include: choosing which APIs to show in the reference guides, style fine-tuning, getting links to API methods to change depending on the selected programming language, and, most difficult of all, get Jaguar and Wayon to approve my Pull Request so that the docs are finally part of Symbol’s source repository 😅.
- Review
Some final reviewing was needed for Opening Line’s book on Symbol (see February’s post). I am told the book is now ready for publication!
- Management
All documentation tasks are now properly described and accounted for in our task tracking system (Notion, actually). Tasks include the remaining site configuration issues and all pages to be written. It’s a long list, we only need to pick up tasks and do them! Even an AI could do it! 😏
- Writing content
The first pages are always the hardest ones, because they set the tone and style for the rest, and because they test whether the infrastructure is capable of doing everything I had in mind.
So far, I am happy with how things are shaping up. You can judge for yourself in the next section.
- Daruma Studios
Work has started on our little video games studio. Not sure what that is? Keep reading…
Here you have each task’s relative time distribution for this month:

Hopefully, from now on, it will mostly be content writing.
Docs Site Preview
The new site is already available, if you want to take a sneak peek:
There is not much content yet, but you can already see some of the infrastructure work:
- Three separate books, each tailored to a specific audience, so it’s always clear who each page is for.
- Links taking you to a different book have a different color.
- You can hover over some words like “account” or “public key” and a popup shows you a quick definition, without needing to click on it. If you click, you are taken to the page where that word is defined.
- Likewise, you can hover over method names and a popup shows you the quick documentation.
- Available in light and dark theme.
- Available in English and Japanese. Translating the pages from English will take some time, but all the site’s messages should already be available in Japanese. If you spot one that is missing please tell us!
